What Are the Causes of Back Pain?

Because the back (dorsal-thoracic) vertebrae are less mobile, thoracic disc herniation is seen less frequently compared to lower back and neck pain. Many diseases can cause back pain. Back pain may originate directly from the back region itself, or it may also appear as accompanying or referred pain associated with diseases such as gastric ulcer, pancreatitis, and heart attack.

Causes of Back Pain

  • Back pain due to myofascial pain syndrome
  • Scoliosis (lateral curvature of the spine) deformities
  • Thoracic disc herniation (thoracic hernia),
  • Tuberculosis,
  • Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Osteoarthrosis (calcification),
  • Back pain due to osteoporosis and bone tumors.
  • Inflammatory diseases of the spine
  • Tumors Ankylosing spondylitis
  • Psychological back pain
