What Are the Symptoms of Ulnar Groove Syndrome?
Patients usually present with complaints of pain, numbness, and/or tingling. Numbness and tingling are mostly felt in the ring finger and little finger. The complaints become more severe if the pressure on the nerve increases. Complaints increase when the elbow remains bent for a while, such as while holding a phone, reading a book or newspaper, or during sleep. Some patients feel weakness, loss of strength, and clumsiness in their hands, and they state that they drop objects from their hands. In patients whose ulnar nerve is severely compressed, numbness in the fingers and wasting of the intrinsic hand muscles may also occur.
